Inspiring the community one backpack at a time.
Family Resource Day brings the community together for a day filled with art, music, games, and a free farmers’ market. This day aims to connect our community's most vulnerable members to food, new clothing, shoes, backpacks with school supplies, and much more. We aim to help the littlest members of our community have the tools to excel in areas of academic and extracurricular life.
This event features a variety of interactive art stations for families to participate in, ranging from the visual arts to musical instruments. Our booths will also connect families to additional programs focused on these arts that children can participate in throughout the year at no financial cost. This event serves as the gateway for the children in our community to be introduced to the arts and be able to continue their journey without financial barriers.

Thank you so much for your support of Family Resource Day! We could not do it without your support!
We officially launched our back-to-school drive in May! This year, we're calling for everyone's support to raise awareness of our efforts to collect backpacks, school supplies, and donations for Family Resource Day in August (and mini FRD in February for those mid-year shoes & coats that shrink, holy backpacks, recent immigrants, etc.).
We urge each donor, volunteer, board, and staff member to reach out to three people in your network to spread the word about our initiative. Let's work together to equip the youngest members of our community for academic success!
Backpacks and supplies can be dropped off at Our Second Home or the Community Service Center or contribute online through our fundraiser.
